A Plate Heat Exchanger is basically a component that uses metal plates to transfer heat between two fluids. The main advantage this has over a conventional heat exchanger is that the fluids are exposed to a much larger surface area as the fluids are spread evenly and throughout the plates.
Contruction is normally typical of several metal plates (normally stainless steel) seperated by rubber seals commonly know as Plate Heat Exchanger Gaskets . The nature of the plates provide a very large surface area through which the liquid passes, assisting in dissapaiting heat at a very efficient rate. Channels and chambers in the plates tend to be made very thin, maximising fluid contact and therefore further aiding heat transfer.
Plate Heat Exchangers are also very serviceable, and we offer a full service for all of the major manufacturers and models. The Majority of the Plate Heat Exchangers you will see look very similar, but the difference lies on the inside in the construction and design of the exchanger. The plates themselves are easily replaceable, but the quality of the gaskets is of paramount importance.
